Not possible to complete OAuth flow on mobile. SharePoint's mobile view is broken. RRS feed

  • Question

  • On both Android/iOS, it is not possible to complete the OAuth flow via a mobile browser.  A temporary workaround is to add in the mobile=0 query parameter of the OAuthAuthorize.aspx url we redirect the user to. This lets the user grant access to the app.

Does anyone from Microsoft know when this will be resolved?

  • Hi vinod_,

Thanks for posting in MSDN forum.

Since the issue is more relative to SharePoint developing, I would like to move it to Developing Apps for SharePoint 2013 forum.

The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Regards & Fei

  • Hi,

As far as I know, OAuth flow should be supported by mobile browser. Basically OAuth 2.0 uses HTTP POST and HTTP GET to pass context token between provider hosted Apps and SharePoint 2013, and both methods are supported by mobile browsers. However, since host apps can use different methods for authentication and security, and the App itself may not support a mobile view, the issue could be different for specific scenarios. Would you please show more information about your SharePoint environment and the authentication system of your Apps?

Here are some general articles about SharePoint authentication with Apps:
