Hide Blog feature from Mysite in Sharepoint 2013 RRS feed

    Is there any way to hide Blog option from mysite in Sharepoint 2013?

    Please let me know your thoughts

  • Hi Swetha,

    There is no specific setting to hide "Blog" functionality. One way to do it is by stapling a feature to mysite definition which deletes the blog that gets provisioned in user's personal site and removes the link to blog in the left nav.

    But still, the user can go to site contents -> New subsite and create a blog site. To prevent this, in your stapler feature that you created above, add extra code to remove current user's permission from creating any subsites. However doing this will prevent them from creating any kind of subsite.

    I do not think there is a way to specifically shut down the Blog functionality.

    What you could also do is hide the link to the blog site using jquery.
