Where is the .mpp file? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Specifically I am trying to open the file in Visio to build a timeline (I'm aware of the timeline view in Project Pro, I'm trying to build a dynamic dashboard though). I have had other instances where I'll like to connect to the .mpp from other applications and cannot find where it is stored in Project Server/PWA.

There is no MPP file for enterprise projects stored in Project Server.  Every project is stored in the Draft database in the Project Server database.  Hope this helps.

  • Hi Guenk

Dale is absolutely correct about no MPP file.

However, if you open the project schedule from PWA using project professional, you can then hook up visio from with the project schedule.

    Cheers!
