How to paste an image in a field list (ex. rich text editor), instead of uploading it, in SharePoint 2010?

  • Hi,

I am looking for a way to paste an image (like an error image) in a rich text editor in Sharepoint 2010 or in another field list without having to upload it first in a library (this costs a lot of time), but I have not yet found any solution or workaround..

    Could anybody help me?

    Thanks a lot!

  • Hi there,

SharePoint is a server platform, so if you paste an image into your browser, it is not stored on the server. That is why you need to save your image before you can use it.

You can create a custom solution with ActiveX in order to create some kind of text field where you can paste an image.

  • Thank you for your reply, I downloaded and tried the demo by installing the dll and aspx files on the IIS webserver

but could not get it to work. Another thing though, since it needs an upload folder, is this a proper solution for a sharepoint server? Isn't the content in

sharepoint supposed to be inside the MsSQL database?

Is there a way to customize (e.g. by adding javascript) the existing text editor to include the ability to copy-paste images?
