  • I have to send an email if myColumn = "Hello" using SharePoint 2010 OOB feature for custom list and column/field is of type  dropdown.

    in short Without using code (C# / JS/ Workflow) I have to send an email if myColumn = "Hello" when list item updated.

    You can create a view filtered by your criterias and then create the OOB alert based on this view.

  • Yes, you can create a view, defining the condition in the filter section. 
    Then, you can create an alert bases on this specific view.
