  • In Office 2003 Premium, it ships with a comm library that peforms serial port communication.  I have used this library in Excel to read data from an external device that detected windspeed flows.  I'm sure it would work with any VBA module -- Access...  I can't remember what that library is called off the top of my head (it was a home based project).   It might be mscomm.dll (I believe that is it).  There may also be an activeX comm control (per my google/bing searches).  But I used this .dll -- which may work with Acc2010.
