Images "embedded" in a FOrm. Is it possible to "link" then to a Report controle? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

    I have a Form that saves images as some kind om embedded objects.

    Is it possible to link the selected image to be used in other Forms or Reports.

    See pic below;

  • Change the Picture Type to Shared, then you can use the Insert Image (Design tab) to reuse the image in other objects.

    That said, personally, I still prefer to make a simple form/report with an image and insert the form/report wherever it is required.  I find it easier to manage.

  • I completely agree with Daniel. The shared embedded image might be the way to go, but I've been using logo subforms and subreports for years. If I need to update the logo I only have to do it in two places.

  • You can also take a look at my article at EE : https://www.experts-exchange.com/articles/33716/Defeating-the-device-independent-bitmap-dib-format.html

    and stop chasing images around....everything neatly stored to an Access table.

  • Thank you all

    I have sub reports wih logo files and it works fine.

    What I like with the shared picture type is to have all the images files in my Application.

    Today my logos are stored in a separete table and I guess the "shared pictures" is i a table too.
