  • Question

  • Hi

I create folder in sharepoint list. Then I define workflow that have “create list item” action in this list.

Now I want items that created in this list by workflow ,placed in folder. How I can do this?

  • Hi

instead using folders, why you don't use a specific column - as metadata , which will help you to filter, sort, and so on items in your list? And use workflow to populate that item's  "type"  column based on your criteria

  • Hi remeo

I need to create folder for manage information and avoid mess in allitems.aspx. I know I can use group by and etc for managing items but I want to use folder that users can’t see special items in allitems. aspx. For example I create folder for every year and want to put items related to each year by workflow. Now , I want to know how I can put item in special folder by workflow?

  • Hi Hemendra,

Thanx for your link. That trick works correctly, but give me error that workflow can not delete list item,be sure users have enough permission for delete items.

Users have contribute permission on this list and workflow work correctly in action but in status column give me error.

    What’s wrong?

It looks like this doesn't work in SharePoint 2013. I created the same workflow in SharePoint 2010 and 2013 modes and the 2013 creates the item but not inside the folder. Why?

  • Setting the "Folder" property has no effect in a SharePoint 2013 workflow.

In the following post you can find a detailed explanation on how to do that using rest inside you workflow:
