On going through the logs it says: Internal server error exception: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

  • Hi Kartik.Sharma31,

You can check the following points to troubleshoot your issue:

    1. Go to Start->Run->services.msc->make sure the “SharePoint timer service”, “SharePoint Search host controller" and "SharePoint server search service” are running. And make sure the passport of the service account is not expired/changed to make the service stopped.

    2. Go to Central Administration->System settings->Manage services->make sure “SharePoint Server Search” and “Search Query and Site Settings Service” are started.

    3. Run IISReset and reboot the server to check the results.

    Best regards,

    Grace Wang

  • Hi Kartik.Sharma31,

Whether the only one web application has this issue?

Go to central administration->manage web applications->select the relevant web application->click service connectins, check if the search service application is listed.

If the issue exiss, try to reset index the via manage service application->search service application->Index Reset->Reset Now, then stat a full crawl.

    Best regards,

    Grace Wang
