Apply v4.master to a SINGLE page

    Question

  • I'm getting an error on some pages with custom masterpages. I'm only concerned with one right now: http://intranet/sites/example/_layouts/AuditSettings.aspx.

Is there a way through powershell or a webpart on the page to override the custom masterpage on this single page, replacing it with v4?

    Thanks

  • Hi scogordo,

If you have a page in the Site Pages library, and you want to assign a single page to a specific master page, all you have to do is change that pages’ "MasterPageFile" property.

But you cannot change a specific page in the Pages library, because those are publishing pages, and are all controlled using page layouts (which do not allow for this kind of specific customization).

And per my test, you cannot change application pages too.

Refer to the following article about using a page specific master page in SharePoint 2010:
