ODBC Could Not Find File D:\TEST.accdb.mdb RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am connecting a new "upgraded" database that is now .accdb instead of .mdb. I installed the 2016 Driver but when add the datasource I receive an error Could Not Find File 'D:\TEST.accdb.mdb'

I am having trouble finding why or where it is appending the .mdb to the end of the file.

I found one other person with this issue and it pointed to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI for updating the file name but there is nothing in that location that pertains to the file name.

This is on 2012 Server but I also replicated the issue with my W10 workstation.

  • Yes, that is correct. My file is .accdb but when I add that file to the ODBC it gives me the error of Could Not Find File 'D:\TEST.accdb.mdb'

  • Hi stevealexssa,

You have to find the code in your Module or Form's module or where ever you use the ODCB.

Find your code that says  "D:\yourFileNameHere.mdb"

    It might be something like......

    Dim strPath As String
strPath = "someUnnamed control or variable" & ".mdb"
    Application.OpenCurrentDatabase strPath
    hth
