Exchange Online and CRM Online 2011 Email Router


  • I have been trying to configure the Email router with Exchange Online and CRM 2011 Online but am getting stuck somewhere. I have setup the Incoming and Outgoing configuration profiles, and the Deployment but when I go to the final tab (Users, Queues and Forward Mailboxes) and click Load Data, it does not work. The error message I get is:

    The Email Router Configuration manager was unable to retrieve user and queue information from the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server. This may indicate that the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server is busy. Verify that URL '' is correct.Additionally this error can occur if specified access credentials are insufficient. To try again click Load Data. (Access is Denied)

    Steps taken so far:

    I have setup all users and queues to have 'Email Router' as the incoming and outgoing settings within CRM.

    Created Incoming and Outgoing profiles. For Access credentials I used an Exchange Online user with Admin privileges.

    In the Deployment tab of the Router configuration, I have used as the CRM server (where crm4org3axxx is the unique organisation ID)

    I have set credentials to be the live ID and password of a user with system administrator role.

  • Have found the answer myself..... the URL should have been missed the 4 on the crm4 part of the URL).

    For some reason, when I create a new deployment and tick CRM online, it fills in the URL as .... automatically.

    The obvious thing to do is simply to copy and paste the unique organisation name in place of the tag so it is easy to see others having the same issue!
