Windows 2019 RDSH FS Logix Ondrive Files on demand not available for most users RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've setup a Windows 2019 Server Environement with 2019 RDSH host, RD Gateway, DC's and fileserver storage and Azure AD Connect.

    Software:

    Office 365 ProPlus NL
    Microsoft FSLogix Apps - 2.9.7349.30108
Teams Machine-Wide Installer 1.3.012058 (seperate install outside of office by exclusion.

    msiexec /i Teams_Windows_x64.msi Options="noAutostart=true" ALLUSERS1

    Microsoft Ondrive 20.052.0311.001

(seperate install outside of office by exclusion. Machine install with OneDriveSetup.exe /allusers"

We use O365 and profile container.
We put Ondrive Ondrive data in Office 365 container combined with serveral other Office apps.

We are testing now with serveral users and experience that Ondrive files on demand is not working correctly.

With my account i been able to use Files on demand in Onedrive. But for my two other testing colleague the options it is not available. Same ondrive version same host.
I can repeat it when i start over after deleting the containers. The same keeps on happening.

    Any suggestion?

  • They  get this message first:

Files On-Demand requires a connecect to Windows in order to show your files without taking up space on this device. OneDrive can keep trying to connect to Windows or you can choose to download all files. You won't be able to use online-ony files until this is fixed.

It only works when using download all files and after that files on demand disapears from settings tab.

  • I've tested now with version: 19.222.1110.0011 (production), 19.222.1110.0011 (enterprise) and 20.064.0329.0008 (future).

I'm so far troubleshooting that this happens with concurrent users in the system.

For instance two users with files on demand can work simultanously but with three i've not seen it working in my environment.

The system is intended for more then two simultanously. :)

Logoff a user and reconnect then solves the problem for that other user or a user can push the button download files and then Onedrive switches back without a setting files on demand in settings in the menu anymore. It only happens users how have files in c:\users\<username>\ondrive.
