Leverage Mail REST API in Mail add-in for Outlook RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Can I use Mail REST API (or unified API) from Main add-in for Outlook in context of current Office 365 user account using token from Javascript API for Office methods mailbox.getIdentityTokenAsync, mialbox.getCallbackTokenAsync or something else to authenticate in service?

    Thanks in advance.

It is impossible to achieve your requirement. Mail Rest api and mail add-in are two different products, you could not use mail rest api with token from mail add-in. With token from mailbox, you only could identify the user and the Office add-in. To use Mail Rest api, you have to registered and identified your app, and obtained the appropriate authorization. At present, there are two approaches to handle app registration and user authorization.

You could refer the link below for more information about this.
