Popup “disappears” when mouse pointer moves in IE9 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

    I have a weird problem

When a icon is clicked say for modifying password a pop up needs to be displayed.

As soon as I move mouse pointer to this pop up it got disappears and when , again it get restored after clicking Restore Advance settings from internet options .Can it be cured with some tweak or is it to do something with GWT.

I doubt this has to do any thing with GWT because I am not seeing this problem in higher version of IE or any other browser like mozila, chrome etc.Regards

I am using IE version 9.0.8112.16421

  • Hi,

It is very hard for someone to give you a definitive answer without being able to test your web page. Do you have a link to a publicly accessible web site page or a jsfiddle mashup that shows the issue?

I would start to debug your page with the IE dev tool. f12>DOM Explorer tab (I think it may be called something else in IE9), then the find tool. Using the find tool move your mouse over the 'icon' and click on it to select it in the DOM Explorer tab of dev tools. The html markup will be selected in the DOM Explorer window and its inline and inherited style rules will be displayed on the rhs of dev tools...

I would further guess that it has something to do with your IE mixed content settings, since resetting the Advance tab of internet Options 'fixes' the problem for you.

You can avoid "Block unsecured images with other mixed content" disappearing images by using a protocol-less uri. eg. <img alt="google plus button" class="fbconnect" src="\\\images\login.png"/>

Your login/join page of coarse should already be using the https protocol.

If you are using showModalDialog with the facebook connect api's you are going about it the wrong way. Use instead. See
