How to auto-default back to a default page on a kiosk

    Question

  • I have set up a web application using VS2015 on a kiosk. The user can move in and out of screens that show pertinent information. I need to add a link on the main page that will open a web page that is "Outside" the kiosk application. Once that occurs, is there any way to put some type of timeout function in IE to auto default back to the previous default main page within the kiosk web application if there is no activity for 5 minutes? Since it would be outside the application at that point I don't know what else  I could do.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

use LightBox or jquery to overlay the 'outside' content in an iframe on top of the kiosks' modal page. You could then script a timer to hide the overlay dialog after a minute or so.

  • I am not well-versed in jquery. Is there any sample code for that?

    Thanks!
