  • BTS 2013 is working fine on my laptop running windows 10

Do you have any errros in the windows application log (event log viewer)?

Are you running the installation with elevated / administrative rights?

    /Peter

  • What do you see in this log file (part of the description in your extended log)?
    C:\Users\Lenovo\AppData\Local\Temp\Setup(082718 235309).log

Did you check the windows application log?

  • BTS2013 is NOT supported on Windows 10. You are bound to run into issues while running the BTS 2013 on the Windows 10 machine later on also. My suggestion would be to have a windows version which supports BTS 2013 probably Windows 8 Following is the software and hardware requirement of BTS 2013

Hardware and Software Requirements for BizTalk Server 2013 and 2013 R2

I would suggest you to install BizTalk 2016 if you have a MSDN subscription, BTS 2016 is supported on Windows 10. There are some caveats to install it on the Home version, but nothing too tough.

  • Hi Nilesh,

Have you tried installing the BizTalk pre-requisites cab files(Refer Link#1) first and then go to normal installation(refer Link#2) ??

Also make sure you have followed all pre-requisite steps which required to be followed when installing the BizTalk Server

    i.e.

    1) Installation should be run with user who is a member of Windows Administrator Group

    2) Configure MSDTC service for Distributed Transactions support

    etc.....

  • Sorry no idea atm

Can you share content of this log file from your unsuccesful installation?
    C:\Users\Lenovo\AppData\Local\Temp\Setup(082718 235309).log

As suggested you can create a VM guest with the supported server OS
An SSD HD connected as an USB drive gives adequate performance for development/test purposes

  • Hi Nilesh,

This is what I was talking about, the configuration you are trying to set up is not a supported stack. You are bound to run into lot of errors when you try to configure the Biztalk 2013 with windows 10,

That being said, I also ran into configuration issues when I configured BTS 2016 on my Windows 10, I remember adding Networkservice to the local administrator as a temporary fix to solve the issue( This was the issue due to windows patch that broke the BizTalk configuration, but I believe that the correct patch has been rolled out, not sure on that I took the easy path) . You can try adding the Networkservice to the local administrator group. But the lusrmgr.msc console is not accessible in Windows 10, you may need to add it using CMD

  • HI _Nilesh,

can you confirm, if you have installed all the prerequisites for BizTalk 2016 ? The list of all the installation of prerequisites can be found at Set up and install prerequisites for BizTalk Server 2016 post that do you have your latest updates installed for Windows 10?

  • I am having exactly the same problems here, with enterprise single sign-on server: unspecified error.

First tried to install BizTalk 2013 (after installing all prerequisists) When that didn't work,

Also installed Visual studio 2015, SQL server 2016 and other prerequisites and then trying to install Biztalk Server 2016. But still getting the same error. Anybody found a solution to this?

  • I will assume Windows 10 Home is not compatible with BTS

It is possible to run a developer instanse on windows 10 enterprise, best option is virtual machines on an USB disk using the correct compatible OS, works like a charm

If you have access to BTS Developer you will also have access to all windows OS for test/development purposes
You shouldn't hesitate to do a proper installation

    /Peter
