SaaS FA/BI - Simple OBIEE table report(1miilion 10 columns) unable to Export to XL using IE browser but Chrome working fine RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • In OBIEE, simple table 1 million rows with 10 columns BI report, we able to export to XL(download) using Chrome browser successfully but with IE11 or any IE version, export(download) failed with below error in UI and backend OHS log. we see some timeout happens b/w browser and OHS.

    Looks like this is IE issue and help to give some workaround.

    Note: In Firefox, reduced network.http.tcp_keepalive.long_lived_idle_time (default 600s) setting to 30s (about:config) in Firefox and it is successful now. I need to know what is the setting same in IE.

  • Hi User,

    You had asked,"In Firefox, reduced network.http.tcp_keepalive.long_lived_idle_time (default 600s) setting to 30s (about:config) in Firefox and it is successful now. I need to know what is the setting same in IE."

    To set the Keep Alive time out in Internet Explorer 11, You need to create an entry in registry key.

    You can refer the steps below.

    (1) Press Win+R to launch Run.

    (2) Type the "Regedit"command and press Enter key.

    (3) Go through the path below.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> InternetSettings

    (4) Right click on  InternetSettings.

    (5) From the options that appear, hover the mouse around New followed by DWORD(32 bit) Value.

    (6) A new value will be created on the right hand side of the window. Give the name to the newly created value as "KeepAliveTimeout".

    (7) Click on the newly created value. A dialog box will appear. Change the base to Decimal  and set the desired value. Click on OK.

    (8) Restart the Internet Explorer to take effect.

    Regards

    Deepak
