IE11 crashes trying to print SSRS client report

    Question

  • I have a 2005 rdlc file integrated in web application. The application server doesn't have any reporting components installed, instead only the Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms.dll is deployed as ref assembly and registered as httphandler.

Everything I try to use print functionality, the IE crashes. I tried installing reportviewer 2005 SP1 on client side, but to no avail. I don't have a way to test in previous versions of IE. IE11 in compatibility mode and side added to trusted site has no effect.

    Error:

  • Hi TS_Prasanna,

    >>Faulting module path: C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files\CONFLICT.1\RSClientPrint.dll

Once your files are copied to "C:\windows\Downloaded Program Files" You will need to register your dll.

    regsvr32 "C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files\CONFLICT.1\RSClientPrint.dll"

You need to run this CMD as administrator.

  • Hi Wang Pactera,  Thanks for the answer. Now after registering, i still continue to get the error.

Faulting application name: IEXPLORE.EXE, version: 11.0.10586.0, time stamp: 0x5632d625

If i debug the browser error i see following:

Unhandled exception at 0x13D973EE (RSClientPrint.dll) in iexplore.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x3F8F0004.

If there is a handler for this exception, the program may be safely continued.

I suggest add your site to Trusted sites and try again.
