BizTalk FTP Receive Locations Issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our BizTalk 2016 Production system is running good since last year. However, since the beginning of this month, our default FTP Receive locations are randomly disabled with the error related to the Throttling limit (4 of 6 FTP Receive Locations are struck).

There are also flooding error id 5719 "A stream read or write operation failed because the stream is in an error state" on our event log.

Following the same problem on the link (https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/5dfa3efd-10dd-40f8-88cd-7ce471af7bf2/a-stream-read-or-write-operation-failed-because-the-stream-is-in-an-error-state?forum=biztalkgeneral), I have temporary disabled database size based throttling for BizTalkServerApplication host by setting “Message count in database” from 50000 to 0 and enable the BizTalk SQL job "MessageBox_Message_ManageRefCountLog_BizTalkMsgBoxDb", but it could not help.

Is there any other ways to verify the root cause of this issue?
Why this error is just appeared after the system is running for a year ago?

  • Have you run BizTalk Health Monitor to check for any issues?

Did something change at the beginning of the month?

How many FTP receive locations do you have, and how many on a single Host Instance?  Spreading them across mutiple host instances may help.

Have you checked how frequently they poll?  Reducing this might help.

Can some of them have a schedule set, so that they only run at certain times?
