Are Server Sent Events in IE9 supported?

Answers

  • Hello MikeH,

At the time of this writing, IE9 RTM does not appear to support server-sent events.  I tested this on a simple SSE page available on the internet. I cannot think of a similar alternative-- other than the traditional AJAX approach.

I recommend leaving your feedback on our Connect website for IE feedback (https://connect.microsoft.com/IE) as well as checking with the official IE blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/) for future updates. When we announced Geolocation for IE9, it was first made public on the official IE blog.

Please remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
