  • Hi Vishant Gautam,

    thanks for posting here.

    >>Is it possible to connect to ws://127.0.0.1 from https://127.0.0.1 ?

What exactly do you want to do? Do you want to transport from https://127.0.0.1 to ws://127.0.0.1?

Maybe you could use some redirection, here are some articles for your as references.

  • Hi Sera Yu,

Actually i have a web application running on some server and also a small websocket server running on client system.

When  user open any page of web application then webpage want to send some information(using websocket)  to websocket server running on same system(client system).

Currently webApplication is running on HTTPS and my websocket server does not support SSL/TLS

When i try to communicate from a webpage running on https://  to a websocket on ws:// it gives (security error, error code :18) in IE.

Same works fine in chrome, and firefox provides some configuration for the same.

So i was wondering if there is some configuration or anything to make this work.

It works in chrome and firefox usually indicates it is an IE security zone setting that is preventing the same outcome in IE. Please try tehse two ways below.

    1. Click Tools>Internet Options, Security tab, there is a security zone setting for navigating across zones of differing security levels. Set it to a lower level.

    2. Don't use the IE Security Zone Model and uses IE7 Emulation Mode by default.

Hope this could be help of you.

    Best Regards,
    Sera Yu

  • Hi Sera Yu,

    1. Not able to find any security zone setting for navigating across zones of different levels. Please let me know exact setting.

    2. Websockets are supported in ie >= 10.

    Please suggest.
