Error when executing SSIS package RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Have been trying to run an SSIS package (.dtsx) from SQL Server Agent but cannot find a way to make it work.

For testing, the package consists only an ExecuteSQLTask with a simple select top 1000 rows statement. Still after trying to execute
the job step, after a couple of seconds the job fails with the following error.

Code: 0xC001F02A     Source: Package      Description: Cannot create a task from XML for task "SQL_SELECT"<c/>
    type "Microsoft.ExecuteSQLTask"
due to error 0x80070057 "The parameter is incorrect.".

The package doesn't have any parameters. A login, credential and a proxy have all been created still nothing seems to work.

SQL Server Version is 2016 (Evaluation)

Is there some configuration that needs to be done in order for this to work.

  • Hi Jonas,

I guess the eval edition is Enterprise, so

It appears to me being a case of the missing proper SSIS installation.

    Ensure SSIS 2016 is installed.

And if yes, please tell all the steps to reproduce this error.
