Something is wrong with position absolute and progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient ? RRS feed

  • Discussion générale

  • Hello,

I have created a transparency system with CSS property rgba. Because, this property d'ont exist before IE9, I use "gradient" to make the transparency (and a gradient effect but it's not link with my problem).

But unfortunately, "position:fixed" and "position:absolute" on an element with complement of (-ms-)filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient prevent all children to be more high than himself.

Here a test page that prove it : www.foxystream.org/tmp/index.html

by clicking on "intervertir gradient" or "intervertir position", the two CSS property are toggle and we see that the children can take his normal height.

    Why this strange attitude ?

Of course, I can use a second div to create my transparent background but I want to understand,

    Thanks :)

(Sorry if my english is not perfect)
