Problem when inserting VISIO document on the portal

Hi,

 

this error message is displayed to me when uploading a document:

"Unable to update the information in the Microsoft Office document Documents "myDocument.vsd"

 

It happens only when the Document library is set to force "checkout"/check in.

The file is added, but it prevents the checkin (with this error message).

 

If I change the extension name (from VSD to TXT for example) it works fine.

 

It looks like the portal is trying to udpate the visio file, why??

Is it to update the version number in the file??

 

Anyway what is the workaround??

 

I do have Sharepoint 2007 and Visio 2002.

Hi,

Maybe your Visio document has custom meta-data which are not compatible with your document library columns ? Try to remove all your meta-data from your Visio document and see if you still have the issue.
