MS Expression Web 4 and Windows 10

    Question

  • I have windows 10 and MEW 4 installed last January. Now it does not load correctly and I'm getting a message saying

"MEW4 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Close Program"

    Anyone who can help?

  • That message tells us what it tells you: pretty much nothing. Something changed on your computer and we can't tell you what. It's possible the asp.net framework got corrupted - EW needs that in order to operate. Reinstalling EW (last and free version here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36179 ) rarely fixes anything, but you could try it, while repairing the asp.net framework sometimes has fixed problems - but that's tricky to do in Win 10.  The net framework repair tool from Microsoft (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135 ) doesn't include Win10 in its supported operating systems.

And, of course, it's possible something completely unrelated is causing the problem: failing hardware or other interfering software.
