Publishing Destination Issues RRS feed

  • Question

  • One of these quirky ones where something seems to have changed.....

I have a single website which I use Expression Web to manage - it creates my website as "My Company Site" (eg) as a subfolder of My Web Sites.

When I publish to my service provider server Expression Web insists on publishing to website WWW.xxxx.Com/My Company Site rather than just WWW.xxxx.Com

FTP is to WWW.xxxx.Com and I can use FileZilla rather than Expression Web to publish which works fine

Have been in contact with service provider but of course they cant help re Expression Web issues and as the FileZilla option works its now a closed issue so far as they are concerned

Does anyone have any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

  • When you open your site, are you opening "My Company Site", or are you opening "My Web Sites" and then opening the "MY Company Site" subfolder?  If so, EW thinks the site root is My Web Sites, and is, of course, publishing the subfolder "My Company Site" under the root.

If this is the case, you need to redefine your site as the site root.

Also, what is the directory in the Publishing Settings?  That's another thing that can throw things off, if that is wrong.
