Can Front Page Extensions be removed in Expression 4 or elsewhere? Win10. RRS feed

  • Question

  • My website was originally built in Front Page and my IP doesn't support FP Extensions. Can I remove FP Extensions? I use Expression 4 now. Thx.

  • Just to clarify, FrontPage Server Extensions aren't something "in" your site.  They are on the server.  The question is if your site has anything in it that relies on FPSEs.

There used to be lists on the web of things to check and change in order to remove FrontPage Server Extensions dependencies from your site, but it's been years since those were written (way back when the announcement of MS dropping support for FPSEs was made) and I can't find them anymore.

The first thing is: does your site still work on the server, without FPSEs?

    If not, what doesn't work?

Whatever required FPSEs will need to be replaced with something else, but we can't tell you what those things are since we don't know your site.
