  • I'm using vb8 express and I'm trying to make a smart device program for school

    the smart device option is not listed in new project types and when I try to open this kind of app from a memory stick..I'm informed that "this project type is not supported by this installation

    how do I fix this?!?!

    If you want to use a template, you have to buy one of the VS products that supports the template.

    Otherwise, you have to study the library references, project imports, and other project/solution level details related to the template (in a version of VS that supports it) and set up a raw (blank) Visual Studio solution/project to match.


    It never hurts to try. In a worst case scenario, you'll learn from it.
