How to use Azure Tables with MD5 RRS feed

  • Pregunta

  • Hi all,

    I am facing a problem when creating an entity in Azure Tables using REST API, following the documentation in:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsazure/dd179428.aspx

    It is said that the String to sign, shoud be:

    StringToSign = VERB + "\n" +
                   Content-MD5 + "\n" +
                   Content-Type + "\n" +
                   Date + "\n" +
                   CanonicalizedResource;

    But if I put, the Content-MD5, the response is allways that the signatire is incorrect, but if I leave this Content-MD5 void, then the signature is Ok.

    Why is happening this behaviour? Is the Content-MD5 necessary, or not? If not, where ca I find documentation related to this?

    I though that the MD5 in the signature was related to avoid some kind of man-in-the-middle attack, but if data is not hashed + signed, then we must go throug https (slow) to ensure that there is nobody modifying our data?

    Is there a way to activate this MD5 related test?

    Thanks in advance,
       Jordi.
