Question About Windows phone and Windows 8 Developer license RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am a new developor to the microsoft ecosystem, I do software as well as games, and had a question about the developers license.

From what I have seen in order to develop for Windows 8, windows phone, and xbox there would be 2 license required, one for Windows 8 and the other for Windows phone/xbox. Seperately the two cost 99 and 49 or 150.

Is there a way to get a license that would allow for programing across all platforms or would I have to settle for the two seperate?

  • As far as I know, they are separate, and you would need to buy both.  But as a new developer you should check whether you are eligible for BizSpark membership (http://www.microsoft.com/Bizspark/About/Default.aspx) because this would give you free access to developer sign-up, and many other useful things besides.

  • Thank you, I will look into bizspark and see if that fits my needs. In addition does anyone know if there will be such a license where it combines all of the microsoft ecosystem under one price?
