Webbrowser -- not executing Javascript or renderins the same as internet explorer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using:

    System.Windows.Forms(4.0.0.0).WebBrowser

    Problem one:

this version wont load svg files embeded as objects, this is OK as it will directly load the svg object as a workaround, which is acceptable for my application.

    Problem two:

javascript editing of <text> within the webbrowser isn't working properly.

I'm using jquery method .text() to do this.

How can I get a webbrowser compiled against the latest version of IE and/or its jscript engine?

version of IE used (where everythign works fine:

    Version:11.0.9600.17107

    update versions: 11.0.8 (KB2953522)

    .net control version info:

    build:9600

    minorRevison:17107

    Major:11

    Minor:0

    MajorRevison:0

It seems like the problem must be located in the MS jscript engine called by the .net control

after manipulating the registry (no avail, IE 11 doesn't seem to listen.)

it was a simple change in the meta data of the header

    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge,chrome=1">

IE was working in some sort of quasi mode, which I wasn't able to determine
