    I want to install VS.Net 2008 express edition in my friend's system but the problem is that he doesn't have internet connection. I have successfully installed the same as I have internet connection after downloading setup installer.

    can I get the complete setup of VS.Net on the web that could install it offline?

    Look at the bottom of this page, under the section "Offline Install":

    http://www.microsoft.com/express/download/default.aspx#webInstall

    It's in ISO format (CD/DVD), so you will need to burn it to CD/DVD for your friend.  But it includes everything in the Express line.

    one more quary that I dont want to start a new thread for, if you dont mind.

    one of my friend having VS.Net 2005. but I have decided to install the 2008 Express edition considering the support for ASP.Net 3.5 and latest versions of C#, Visual c#.net.....etc.

    which one of these two I should use?
