  • Hello,

This is the procedure on SQL Server 2005/2008:

    1.     Go to Control Panel Add/Remove Programs

    2.     Select Microsoft SQL Server

    3.     Click on Change/Remove button.

    4.     Click on Remove.

    5.     Select the instance and click on Next

    6.     Select Reporting Services and click on “Next”

    7.     Continue the wizard.

When you click on “Remove” you might think for a minute that you will uninstall the whole SQL Server instance, just go ahead and follow the instructions.

After uninstalling, see the following recommendations.

I believe it's important to emphasize that at the 3rd step one should click on the Change button if it is available. Because "Remove" button would not let you to pick services to be removed, but it would cause all services to be uninstalled. However "Change" does let one to select services to be removed.

Note: Change button is available with Windows Server 2003, I don't have a chance to test other OSs now.
