High CPU utilization between Tracking host and SQL Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I have a situation with my R2 box. The CPU is at 100% between SQL Server and the BizTalk Host with Tracking enabled. CPU is still at 100% even though I am not processing anytihng through R2. Most of the time SQL consumes around 70% of the CPU and the rest by the Tracking Host. Once in a while it;s the other way. If I Stop the Tracking Host. CPU is back to normal. I chekced the BizTalk counters and couldn't find anything in particular. I was procssing a large file through Biztalk and I had to stop the host instances in the middle. These are some of the counters.

Message Agent and Messaging - All counters are 0

    Message Box: General Counters
    Tracking Data Size - 60350.

    Physical Disk
    %idle time - 95 - 100%.
    Avg.Disk Queue Length - 0.000 to 0.200
    Avg.Disk sec/read - 0.000
    Avg.Disk sec/write - 0.000 - 0.008

I don't know why the Tracking Data size shows a high number. This number is not even coming down.

Could you guys please help here.

    thanks

  • Executed the bts_CleanupMsgbox SP to clean up the messages in the DB. Recycled the services after that and the CPU utilization came back to normal.
