Workflow starting error on quick edit view RRS feed

  • Hi all,

    my customer has a list and he changes the column of an item in quick edit view. There is a 2010 SPD workflow (SP2013) running with "on change" setting activated. If the customer changes the field of an item and jumps to the next item the workflow starts in the background and runs perfectly.

    If the customer jumps back to the recently changed item and is changing another field and is saving again before the workflow is done, the workflow runs into a starting error because the old instance is still running.

    Is there a way to avoid or fix this? Maybe the last instance automatically cancel the running instances?

  • Hi,

    According to your post, my understanding is that you get error when starting Workflow on quick edit view.

    Per my knowledge, you can start multiple concurrent instances programticlly.

    You need to create new associations when it has to – only when all the available associations are being used. Otherwise it will use the first available association it finds.
