How to read the Dataset into XML String with Special charecter for eg. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have data set dsDATA and it is bound to the data grid.

Now i want to send this data set as XML to my SP to save the records

But some how my Data set Columns names contains the Some Special Characters such as "Dep Amount (µ) 3_Current"

But when i Call dsData.GetXML() that time its returning me a XML string but for "Dep Amount (µ) 3_Current" its takes some values like

    Column Name                                                   XML Column Name

    Dep Amount (µ) 3_Limit                               Dep_x0020_Amount_x0020__x0028__x00B5__x0029__Limit

So please let me know is there any way to get the result as follows

    Column Name                                                   XML Column Name

    Dep Amount (µ) 3_Limit                                <Dep Amount (µ) 3_Limit >

  • These are the exact conversions in Hex for the special characters.

Normally it is resolved in the manner shown in link

I want data set into the XML String and in the mention link Space is hard coded and replace it, but in my case user can entered any thing like dollar sign or any other special charterer

So suggest me some thing which we can read that character as it is..

  • some characters aren't supported, I would suggest to rename your column names so that they get interpreted in xml correctly.

  • The datagrid will have formating besides the text strings.  You just want to extract just the text to the xml data.
