I strongly suggest you make use of some CVS system like TFS or Git(hub) to keep all your changes.

After a deployment to production you can make changes to your code and when needed deploy again to the live environment. Most CVS have some system of branching and tagging/labeling available so you can (easily) go back to a previous version. Branches are also a good way to keep track of changes or to deploy to different environments like Dev, Test, Production.

I also suggest you make use of WebDeploy for easy deployment to your servers. You can even turn on auto backup on this if needed/wanted.

If you make use of Azure Web Sites you can even have autodeployments when you check in to the couple Git(hub) or TFS (there are more options).

    Grz, Kris.
