Project Server 2010, Synchronizing Tasks from Outlook 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have used Project Server 2007 wit MOSSS 2007. All assigned tasks are updated to users outlook Tasks. We had serveral problems to synchronize from Outlook 2007  and unable to resolve. Finally gave up synchronizing with Outlook 2007.

1, Now Project server 2010 is out. Is this working well with Outlook 2007?

    2. Is it working well with Outlook 2010?

    3. Is it a must to use  Outlook 2010 ?

  • Hi,

Project Server 2010 uses Exchange for syncronisation with outlook, so you should have a much better experience and it should remove the client version dependency. You can read more on the Exchange configuration at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff468700.aspx (exchange 2010) or http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee782548.aspx (exchange 2007 sp2).

You can also get more information, and get a chance to put a face to Christophe by watching this video, that covers statusing in general and has a part on exchange integration http://cdn-smooth.ms-studiosmedia.com/msstudios/1005/1003463/Mod_6_Timesheet_and_Statusing/Default.html

    Hope this is of use.
