How to get ADO.NET Entity Data Model Tools Running in VS 2012? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to use the ADO.NET Entity Data Model Tools in Visual Studio 2012, either Ultimate or Pro.

I followed http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc716703(v=vs.110).aspx, but when I get to

    1. Right-click the project name in Solution Explorer, point to Add, and then click New Item.

    2. Select ADO.NET Entity Data Model in the Templates pane.

No such item appears in the templates list.  I tried running EFTools.msi from C:\ProgramData\Package Cache, but that made no difference.

Can't find any doc anywhere on the install/setup - is this a stealth feature?
