How to write an INF to use a driver from the Driver Repository RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I want to write an INF file that would use one of the drivers stored in the Driver Repository. To be precisely I would like to link usbser.sys to one of my devices.

When trying to sign the INF file, inf2cat prints me an error that it cannot find the usbser.sys specified in the copy file section. I am guessing that I am missing something in the SourceDisksNames. Any one could help here?

    thanks,
    Michal

  • Can you do what you want with a "Needs" entry in the install services section of your INF.  If you want to use SourceDisksNames etc, you need to actually have and sign the file.  The needs entry is there to say you need the stuff from the INF that installed usbser.sys.
