  • Troubleshooting steps

    1. What is the actual message displayed in the browser after connecting to that URL?
    2. Remote into your OOS 2016 server using an account that is a member of the local admin group
    3. In an elevated PowerShell, execute Get-SPGetOfficeWebAppsmachine: does it return "Healthy" or "Unhealthy"?
    4. In the Services applet, look for Office Online: is its status "Running"?
    5. Is your OOS 2016 farm configured for AllowHttp True or False?
    6. If False, check carefully the URL that you enter when trying to connect to the discovery page: pasting into Chrome, for example, can lose the "https" and what the browser actually connects to is "http".  If you don't see the protocol, explicitly type in "https://" in front of the URL, and then try connecting.
    7. In the shell, execute Get-SPOfficeWebAppsFarm: note down the InternalURL that is returned.  Using this URL, craft your discovery URL like this [InternalURL]/hosting/discovery and then try connecting.
    8. Check the OOS 2016 server's event logs for issues associated with OOS

Try these steps and let us know your findings.
