Rename Deleted Items folder in a Store RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • This should be easy, but trying to change the name doesn't work. Any ideas

    var pa = store.PropertyAccessor;
    storesdeleteitems = pa.BinaryToString(pa.GetProperty("http://schemas.microsoft.com/mapi/proptag/0x35E30102")); //store's deleted items
    var deleteditemsforstore = _session.GetFolderFromID(storesdeleteitems, store.StoreID); //another way to get the store's deleted items

    if (deleteditemsforstore != null)
    {
        deleteditemsforstore.Name = "New Name";
     }

    I get:

    System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException was caught
      Message=You don't have appropriate permission to perform this operation.

      ErrorCode=-1594425339

  • Can you rename the folder using MFCMAPI or OutlookSpy?

    Is this the default or a delegate store?

  • Would like to rename using C# and OOM is possible.

    This is for the deleted items of a newly created PST.

  • I don't think you can do that using OOM.

    I suggested MFCMAPI or OutlookSpy as an experiment to make sure there are no lower level problems (like access rights).
