GPS Inaccuracy RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a known issue with the accuracy of the GPS on the Samsung Windows Developer Preview PC?

I used the code from this quick-start tutorial to find my coordinates and the result was off by over 11 miles. To double check the result I used the "Current City" feature of the weather app, and rather than returning the city that I am actually in it returned a neighboring city that matches the coordinates that the geolocation API returned.

While searching through the forums I found this thread, which indicates that there may be some satellite syncing issues, so I have tried getting my current location after disabling and re-enabling the Globetrotter device driver as well as after a reboot, but the results were the same in every case.

  • Were you indoors? GPS does not function properly indoors.

  • I should have mentioned that in my original post; I tried both indoors and outdoors and got the same result.

  • I checked the GPS again this morning, and it seems to be working now. I didn't see an update, but maybe I just missed it.
