Hyper-V wireless developer preview RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

i am using the developer preview and i have created a hyper-v guest with Windows 7.

I have created a wireless switch, bound to my wireless lan adapter. I have enabled "allow Management os to share this Network adapter".

Now, when i start the virtual machine, i get "ip adress conflicts".

Anyone experience same problems? I have also configured a virtual Switch for my wired lan connection, eause later i want nect my virtual Windows 7 Workstation to both connections.
Wired LAN at work, wireless at home.

  • Hyper-V doesn't play a role in assigning an IP address to a virtual machine guest if you setup the 'wireless' switch as an external vswitch.   If this is how you did it then you'll need to determine how you've configured your Win 7 guest to get it's IP address (DHCP, static etc) and make sure there is not something going on there.  You should be able to have both a 'wired' external vswitch and a 'wireless' external vswitch attached to a virtual machine guest at the same time (of course you'll need to modify the virtual machine settings to attach 1 virtual nic to each vswitch).
