TFS Team Project SharePoint Portal..... RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are currently using TFS for Version Control for Source Code only. We have the TFS server license and CALs for all the developers. Since, TFS creates a Team Project SharePoint portal for all Team projects, we would like to use this project portal as a SharePoint site for documents. This means some non-developer folks will be using this SharePoint site for their documents (editing and viewing). We will not be using any TFS specific features such as Reports (Bug Rates, Builds, Quality Indicators etc). Since we will not be accessing any of the TFS features and will be accessing Team Project Portal through Web Browser only, do we still need TFS CAL licenses for non-developer users? We do have corporate SharePoint related licenses.

  • Hi Desi

If you are just using the SharePoint Portal from browser, I don't think you are going to need CALs.
