Cannot Resolve TFS 2008 to TFS 2010 Migration Issue: Item does not exist at specified version or you don't have permission RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are in the process of migrating our TFS 2008 projects to a remote TFS 2010 server.  I have migrated probably about 10-12 with no major issues to the new server, but I am running into a repeated problem with one project in particular.  It has migrated 3604 of 4225 changesets, but it gets stuck on 3605 each time.

    Here is the log:

It insists that one of the files in a large branch action does not exist on the target server, is in the wrong version, or I do not have permission.  On the source server, there are only 2 versions of this file, and I have tried manually adding both.  I have tried to run the migration with adds pending on that file in both versions, as well as with adds committed for both versions.  I get the same result every time.  I have been trying to migrate this for days, and I really do not want to completely start over yet again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Please let me know if there's anything I can get to help you.

    Thanks,

    Brad

  • Hi Brad,

Sounds like I have an almost identical issue to you. (Just posted it in this very forum)

Unfortunately I too am at a bit of a loss so I can offer as yet no help.

If I find out anything I'll post here, you might also want to keep an eye on my question...

    Thanks,

    -Mike G
