Azure Storage Queue limits

    Question

  • Yo, we're attempting a world record - "The most Zombies killed by JavaScript lightning in Minecraft in 10 minutes". We're posting each lightning bolt cast and each zombie killed as a message to an Azure Storage Queue.

<g class="gr_ gr_239 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" data-gr-id="239" id="239">Problem</g> is: the queue starts rejecting message with HTTP 500 at a certain rate. We're not certain what the rate is, but someone said that the queue is limited to a paltry 2k messages per minute.

    Is that true?

Can we get a queue without that limit?

Is there a more performant solution in Azure that is a match for our advanced zombie-killing platform?

  • if you are using  native Azure Storage Queue now then you should have a look at Azure Service Bus
