  • Hi saravana,

A database can become offline because of explicit user action. For example,  someone explicitly sets the database offline via job or manually do it. Another reason is that Auto Close for the database is set to ON.

Besides, about difference between database states, please review this article: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190442(v=sql.110).aspx .

  • A database never goes into offline state automatically.. Never. It is always due to an explicit user action.

Read about the different database states.

Are you getting any error message? Your error log should tell whats happened.

I know this is interview question so here is my answer.

There can be quite fewreasons for database to go offline. The most common one is user doing it. And to find out why refer to SQL Server errorlog.

Generally normal operations can cause SQL Server to hang or may be some corruption can come in which can cause DB to go in suspect mode but offline I have mostly seen this done by users.

I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU LOOK AT SPELLING

What is Stares ? Your last line changes whole question and makes it look like garbage....Dont consider  forum place where you can come and put some garbage. I have always requested moderators to correct such question but seems people are busy in answering instead of making forum better place.
