IE font rendering RRS feed

  • Question

  • Internet Explorer uses clear type nevertheless of the system wide clear type font setting. So what does this do-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main-"Use Clear Type " setting. Does changing the value of this key changes the way IE renders font. By default, the value was set to no, but changing it to yes has no effect on font. What exactly is the role of this registry key?

  • Hi,

No.... that key is depreciated and no longer used..... it is an artifact left over from XP/IE8.

    On Vista, Win7, 8 go

Start>Control Panel>Display and adjust your display settings. You will find the TT and TC dialogs on that control panel.
